Final European Conference in Reggio Calabria (Italy)

From11 to the 14 may 2016, will take place in Reggio Calabria, the final European Conference, for the presentation of project results DICSE.

The final Conference, are expected to attend 28 foreign representatives of partner organizationsr of the project and will be held in conjunction to celebrations for Europe day (from 9 to the 13 may), organised byDepartment of Welfare and Community policies of the municipality of Reggio Calabria – through its Europe Direct Centre.

Festa_Europa_2016In fact, as early as the 9 may 2016, the city of Reggio Calabria, through the Department of Welfare and Community policies, achieved a laboratories program, Workshop, local promotion, comparison and sharing between immigration centred on the theme of solidarity and participation. A series of events disseminated and distributed during a whole week that aim to contribute to the debate and reflection on the contemporary theme of emergency migrants, by comparing experiences, ideas and practical solutions.

Concurrently, the work of the European Conference of the project DICSE, to be held at the headquarters ofMediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, at the historic "Saint George" Palace and at the local Municipal Theatre "Francesco Cilea", with the presence of many local participants, schools, associations and authorities.

In addition to the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, as lead partner, also participating in the project are the Municipality of La Coruña (Spain), the Municipality of Gniew (Poland), the Municipality of Cuba (Portugal) and the Municipality of Sandanski (Bulgaria). The Municipality, were supported in their activities and for the direct involvement of citizens in European programme "Europe for citizens", from local non-profit organizations in their respective countries and that complete the project partnership: Innovamentis NGO (Italy), MIB (Portugal), Ecos do Sur (Spain), EuniPartners (Bulgaria), IRSE (Poland).

On the day of 13 May, the subscription is expected – between the representatives / delegates of the network of cities – a “Memorandum of understanding” (“Memorandum of Understanding”). The document, will represent a future commitment – on the part of municipalities – to support over the duration of the project, the coordinated implementation of joint initiatives in the field of l’Digital Agenda For Europe in their local communities.
